Ella + Mila Review

Today I have a review on another lovely nail polish brand called Ella + Mila. This polish is 100% Vegan, 5 Free, and made in the USA.

Mommy+Me
Here is a picture of two mommy sized polishes. You can order the mommy colors on their own or sets. A set comes with one "mommy" nail polish bottle (16 ml) and one "me" nail polish bottle (7 ml).  There is also one sheet of decorations included.

Tea Rose
This sheer pastel pink polish was smooth, self-leveling, and quick drying. The polish was jelly-like in consistency. The color was difficult to capture on camera (1st one in day light and 2nd one in white light). When inside the color is more like a toned down barbie pink (image below), but in the sunlight the pink color just pops! The image below is three coats and no top coat. Less coats would be needed if you had shorter nails or if you used a white/creme base like I did in the nail art picture below.

Lavender Fields
This pastel purple creme polish that is a little darker than other pastels I have in my collection. It was a smooth, self-leveling, and quick drying formula. This color is very pigmented and only needs 1 medium coat. The picture below is two thin coats with no top coat. Look at that shine!

Be sure to head over to Ella + Mila and browse all the lovely colors they have in stock. I think its the perfect brand for ladies and little ones!

Essie Neon 'Too Taboo' Collection 2014 Review + Swatch Comparison

Today I have Essie's 2014 Neon Collection for you to read about. All the shades were swatched with a white base coat and 3 coats of color. I used a top coat on three of them. I left the other ones so you could see how looks by itself. I must say the natural dry of all the colors are semi-matte.

Too Taboo
An intense fuchsia with three coats. The formula was sheer, but good and easy to build. The second image is two coats of 'Too Taboo' without a white base or top coat. I compared it to Essie 'The Girls Are Out.'

Chills & Thrills
A neon blue violet with three coats. In the bottle I bought, the formula began to separate in the bottle. I had to shake the bottle after every layer to keep the color smooth.

Vices Versa
A juicy neon lime with three coats. The formula was sheer, but good and easy to build.

I’m Addicted
A neon aquamarine blue with three coats. The formula was sheer, but good and easy to build.

Sittin’ Pretty
A berry hibiscus with three coats. The formula was sheer, but good and easy to build. The second image is two coats of 'Sittin Pretty' without a white base or top coat. I compared it to Essie 'Play Date.'

Serial Shopper
A fire coral with three coats that is brighter than Tart Deco. The formula was sheer, but good and easy to build. The second image is two coats of 'Serial Shopper' without a white base or top coat. I compared it to Essie 'Resort Fling,' Essie 'Carousel Carol,' and Essie 'Sunday Funday.'

LittleNailGirl

Today I have three lovely polishes from a new and upcoming nail polish brand called LittleNailGirl. I was fortunate enough to receive the lovely Heather polish named after the creator herself. Please read on for my thoughts and swatches!

Heather
A warm gray color that applies smoothly and opaque in 1 coat. I didn't even have to use a top coat for this lovely color.

Amber
A warm red color that also applied smoothly and opaque in 1 coat. I did 2 coats but if you want a brighter effect you can do one.

Fling
A fun sparkle that was perfect on top of Heather. It matched perfectly with my rhinestone ring and bracelet.

Fun facts about this brand:

  • Vegan Friendly ~ None of our Lacquers have pigment (carmine) which comes from a little insect.
  • Cruelty Free ~ Simply means we never test our lacquers on animals.
  • 5 Free ~ LNG Lacquers are free of these harmful chemicals - dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin and camphor.
